USPS OIG Multi-Agency Drupal Distribution

Challenge

Inspector General offices share publishing needs—reports, findings, investigations, public disclosures, accessibility, and controlled editorial workflow—but separate Drupal builds can drift in configuration and operating practice. Repeating the same platform work for each organization increases maintenance burden and makes improvements harder to carry forward consistently.

Contribution

Wilkes & Liberty's principal engineer contributed to a shared Drupal distribution for the USPS Office of Inspector General and affiliated oversight organizations. A Drupal distribution packages an installation profile, configuration, content structures, modules, permissions, and workflow into a reusable starting point instead of rebuilding each site independently.

The work focused on turning recurring oversight-publishing requirements into a deployable platform pattern. That is forward-deployed engineering in a form operators can retain: understand the common operating context, encode it in configuration and code, and leave a foundation that can be deployed and maintained without relying on undocumented setup knowledge.

Outcome

The engagement produced a reusable Drupal foundation for Inspector General publishing environments. The distribution approach created a consistent baseline from which participating organizations could operate and evolve their sites.

We do not publish an agency count, deployment-time reduction, maintenance savings, Section 508 audit result, prime or subcontract role, or module inventory without supporting records. Those figures were placeholders in the prior draft and have been removed.
